The history of electricity goes back to nearly 300 years of research and development. The efforts to understand and tame electricity started in the 18th century but analyzing and producing it began on a large scale in the 19th century.

From the discovery of electricity by Benjamin Franklin to building electric vehicles and batteries by Tesla motors, we have come a long way. Many prominent contributors to electricity like Thomas Edison, Henry Cavendish, and Joseph Swan have left prominent footmarks of their work from the past.

Later, in the years when electricity was a source of the profession, many expositions and world fairs showcased new inventions by the scientists to promote and adapt electricity in daily life routine. This essential asset invented not only benefitted society to become evolved but also enhanced the quality of living throughout the years. Today, we can operate everything with electricity for domestic and industrial usage.

Electricity has affected our lives for the better. We use the appliances at home to get through the day. Witnessing commercial places that function on electricity like malls, grocery stores, office spaces, etc., we can notice that they work expeditiously, producing effective results for the society to keep functioning regularly.

Electric Vehicles

Among many ground-breaking inventions that we have noted and experienced over the decades, the most innovative concept that we have seen is the idea and manufacturing of Electric Vehicles.

The EVs are experiencing a rise in popularity in today’s tech-driven world, although the idea got introduced more than 100 years ago. That’s right. It was a series of a breakthrough in the 1800s that started from a battery to an electric motor later, utilized as a vehicle on the road.

William Morrisson, in the year 1891, developed the first American car that featured a six-passenger wagon with 14mph speed. His invention was the empirical electric vehicle, slowly spurring interest in the transportation of Electric Vehicles. However, while the EV’s were in moderate use, there was also a simultaneous development of another type of vehicle using different options apart from electricity.

The newly invented vehicle now consisted of depending upon steam and gasoline usage. Even though combustion-engined Vehicles were widely used for covering long distances, they had their drawbacks. They caused noise pollution and required a lot of physical effort to drive by changing gears, whereas electric cars were easy to use and got driven by women to cover short distances.

They were smooth in functioning and had no noisy exhaust emitting pollutants into the air. As time passed, people started investing in gas after discovering crude oil as it was easy to access and was cheaper at costs. With gas stations available at the corner of the streets, Electric Vehicles eventually saw a sharp decline and disappeared by 1935.

The on and offs of the EV industry continued until Tesla motors (founded in 2003) finally came into the picture to rule the current EV auto-mobile industry. The company initially produced luxury sports cars that could travel more than 200 miles on just a single charge.

Tesla’s notable work with time increased the quality of manufacturing EVs, leading people to re-think and purchase the vehicles at modest prices. Today, we have renowned companies like Volkswagen, Audi, Nissan producing EV models on a large scale all over the world.

The EV industry has seen magnificent growth in the past years, making this industry a great investment opportunity for stakeholders worldwide. Electric Vehicle features that include charging at home, less maintenance, environmentally friendly, and utilizing renewable energy also play an essential role in determining people’s interest in Electrical Vehicles.

As the world is getting more educated in sustaining the environment,  people are considering purchasing Electric Vehicles to take a step and change their lives that can lead to a healthy and cleaner atmosphere. Hence, to focus on maintaining a healthy environment.

The foundation and infrastructure of EVs in the automobile industry hold a sustainable position due to their environment-friendly initiatives. With improving electrical technology and cost-effective maintenance of EVs, it is safe to assume that we will witness a complete Electric Vehicle takeover in the near future.
